ARTIST BIOGRAPHY

Brittany Everette is 2021 Webby Award Nominated, freelance artist specializing in colored pencil and digital mediums.

A principal theme in Brittany’s work is the innate connection between women and the natural world. She tries to manifest the relationship between sexuality and strength through the use of vibrant colors and feminine forms; and finds the challenging mediums of colored pencil and digital drawings to be a perfect reflection of the intricate, layered, and detail-oriented nature of what it means to be a woman.

Maintaining a reputation for creating efficient and detailed pieces, Brittany’s work has been described as, “a visual ode to beauty and grace,” with  “an eye for vibrancy and color that effortlessly collide and create engrossing images for viewers to adore.”

ARTIST STATEMENT

I am fascinated by the empirical connections between women, largely women of color, and nature. Using only women, flowers and the occasional animal, coupled with a vibrant interplay of color and form, my work is a headstrong, yet feminine response to contemporary figuratism. My drawings explore the boundaries of seductive, softly poised figures and catharsis to destroy the patriarchal shackles of what the female body represents.
